Friends of Ye Olde Towne Hall, a not for profit volunteer-based organization is seeking a Communications Assistant to work closely with the Board. In this position you will have an opportunity to learn from, and collaborate with, volunteers passionate about preserving Ye Olde Towne Hall in Ailsa Craig for use by the community. Friends of Ye Olde Towne Hall is committed to having a positive impact on the social and economic development of our community.
The Opportunity: Assist in the development and implementation of the social media campaigns. Write content to share community stories, support Ye Olde Towne Hall recovery campaign, promote membership, programming and donor. Assist with newsletters, member advisories and other forms of communication. Respond to emails, attend meetings, participate in discussions. Collaborate with board members in other related duties as required.
About You: Eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs program (www.servicecanada.gc.ca) (youth between the ages of 15 – 30 at the start of employment) Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Social Media Apps. Detailed oriented, motivated, self-managed, and reliable. Ability to work as part of a team as well as work with minimal supervision. Someone passionate about community.
